Cooke County Voters:
You may have noticed that your blue and white voter certificate expired on December 31, 2011. This date reflects that the card has expired; however, your registration has not expired. Your information is still captured in the system. The mailing of the new yellow and white cards is delayed due to the redistricting of the U.S. Congressional Districts.
Voters who are currently registered do not need to take any action.
Voter certificates will be mailed automatically as in the past.
Voters who have moved within Cooke County will need to provide the Tax Assessor Collector’s office their new address. The voter will not receive their new card if they do not provide the new address information to the Tax Assessor Collector’s office.
Voter cards are not forwarded, they are returned to the voter registrar office.
A change of name also requires that the individual fill out a new application.
If you have recently moved to Cooke County, you need to register to vote in this county. A voter MUST be registered 30 days prior to ANY election.
Once the redistricting litigation is resolved, we will be able to mail the new yellow and white cards which will expire 12-31-2013.
